In 2014, a flash flood destroyed my home studio and ruined many valued items. During the process of throwing out what was lost and cleaning what remained, I sometimes recognized a sad beauty in the debris. Throughout 2015, I created a number of books in response to the event.
Among these, the unique vertical accordion book Mudslide includes twelve pages of a repeat image originally drawn with mud, reflecting the aftermath of those high muddy waters as well as other equally dreadful natural disasters.
